30 Oct Happy Halloween (BRRR)

Happy Halloween!!  It has been announced on the Western Colorado news that this will be a record COLD Halloween…. BRRR.  Yes, winter has hit the Western Slope and the snow is flying with the temperatures plummeting.  My weather app says the temp in Montrose right now is a whopping 9 degrees.  Yes – Fahrenheit.  But for those who love winter and all the fun things it brings, this is a great sign.  (Hang in there summer lovers, it’s only a few months till spring hits the Western Slope!)  We are just 30 minutes to an hour from several different ski resorts, so not only is it a short commute, but you can choose a different spot to ski each time you go!  In addition to downhill skiing, there are several great places to cross country ski.  In Ouray, you have the ice climbing and Ridgway will have their Skijoring competition in January. Of course all up and down the Western Slope there will be craft fairs and lots of local holiday bazaars that will offer all kinds of local made products – perfect gifts! So even though winter is here and there’s the chill in the air, we are keeping our spirits bright with all the fun things to do this season!!  Western Colorado is a wonderful place to live and work – just ask me!!
