Back to school is coming for Montrose and Delta Counties! Backpacks, buses and busy mornings. Please slow down, watch those school zones and crosswalks, and NEVER pass a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing. Give yourself extra time and watch for little ones who may not always be watching for you.

August is a great month on the Western Slope. The sunflowers are showing off, local produce is everywhere, and there are still plenty of summer events! The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival is coming August 22 with lots of corn, entertainment and plenty of family fun. This Friday is a U-pick sunflower day at Petal Party! We’ve had some smoky days again, and not all of that smoke is coming from Colorado. Wildfires across the Pacific NW have been sending smoke long distances across the West. Please continue to be extremely careful -our vegetation is dry and fire danger remains a concern.

Rates continue to bounce around. The average 30-year fixed is in the upper-6% range. Rates moved higher this week as markets reacted to oil prices, inflation and international news. Don’t fret- Buyers still have opportunities! I have a couple of listings with extra buyer incentives – let’s chat!
