05 Aug Back to School 2024

Already??  Yep – the majority of schools here on the Western Slope start next week.  Delta County Schools start on August 12^th and Montrose County Schools start August 13^th.  The lucky kids in Ouray County don’t start until August 26^th. So this is your “heads up” to pay attention to school zones and watch out for kids crossing the street.  I have already seen police cars patrolling school neighborhoods so make sure to obey the posted speed limits or you will be a ticket winner!  (Not the good kind of ticket either.)

There are still lots of great things happening in August for you to get out and enjoy.  Cedaredge still has the free Summer Concert Series going on Fridays, Delta has the free Robidoux Music Series on Saturdays, Ridgway has free True Grit walking tours downtown at 3pm on Fridays and don’t forget the Farmers Markets happening all up and down the Western Slope.  Check out my Facebook or Instagram pages for some info on local happenings.  I am happy to share your event if you would like – just send me a note with the details.

Mortgage rates dipped down last week.  According to Money’s daily rate survey, the average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage decreased to 6.633%, a change of 0.069 percentage points.  So if you’re thinking of buying property here in Western Colorado, get in touch with me.  Let’s take a look at your options and get you pre-qualified with a local lender.
