Batten Down the Hatches!

Happy Monday and hold on to your hat!  The wind today is whipping up a dust storm that is wreaking havoc with my sinuses and making my eyes water like crazy.  Welcome to spring on the Western Slope!  An “old timer” once told me that we will have these crazy winds until the snow has melted from the saddle on the Mesa.  If you look at the skyline of Grand Mesa, you will notice a tiny dip that could be interpreted as a saddle shape and the point was that until it is not white with snow, the wild winds of spring will continue.  Well today, the dust is so thick in the air that you can’t even see Grand Mesa.  Or Cerro Summit.  Or the San Juans.  Or the Uncompahgre Plateau.  The photo attached reflects the color of the sky and the gray is not clouds but dust in the air.  The National Weather Service says that it is blowing in a winter storm which means the valleys could get rain and the mountains could get some more snow.

Mortgage rates continue to inch upwards.  You can click here for the latest news on rates.  If you are looking at buying a home with a mortgage, please get in touch with me so I can put you in contact with a professional local lender to get pre-qualified.  Once that piece is in place, we can start looking for a home that fits your needs.  Homes that are priced well, especially on the lower end, are selling very quickly.  So the sooner I know your criteria and price range, the quicker I can get you into a home.

Make sure you’re checking my Facebook and Instagram pages for some fun, upcoming events.  There are so great things happening here on the Western Slope so you will want to get out and enjoy them.  Have a great week!
