The Western Slope has all sorts of fun, safe things coming this month for the holiday season – starting with “Giving Tuesday” on December 1^st.  But it’s not just Tuesday, it is most of the month.  There are giving opportunities available which include food bank donations to angel trees to blood drives and more. We encourage you to visit the local town Chambers of Commerce to see what they have need for.  Cedaredge for example has a collection box for non-perishable food items.

Delta is having a “Giving Tree” for kids who might not normally get a present under the tree and you can drop unwrapped, new presents for kids at several businesses in town.

Montrose has an Angel Tree with a similar goal as Delta and also many businesses participating.

The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce is supporting local non-profits in their area.

So at this time of year, open your hearts and maybe your wallets and help someone. But remember, it doesn’t have to cost money, it might just be the gift of kindness that will put a smile on someone’s face.
