Happy April! March came in AND went out like a lion. Welcome to Colorado! So here we are on April 3rd and our spring winds have arrived – just like clockwork. Today they are blowing in another storm which will bring snow to the Western Slope tonight and into tomorrow. We are currently under a high wind warning with possible winds up to 40-50 miles per hour. In fact, my husband was taking a piece of equipment to Grand Junction today (on a trailer) and he had to turn around and come back as the wind was about to rip the trailer off the truck. Now that’s some wind!! So if you’re here in Western Colorado today, stay safe and be careful. Even with the wind, it is sunny and 60F so I am grateful for that.
April brings a lot of great events – both indoor and out – to the Western Slope. And we are already seeing ads for the summer concert series around the area. There are lots of free concerts and plenty that require tickets. Of course the “grand daddy of them all” for our area, Country Jam, is on and will be the weekend of June 22 – 24 in Mack (just out of Grand Junction). But if you’re not interested in paying $150+ for a ticket to Country Jam, there are other FREE concerts all summer. Cedaredge, Montrose and more.
