You may have noticed prices are a “tad” higher here in Western Colorado than last year – especially if you’re trying to buy a home. As you can see from the graph above, the median price has continued to climb higher each year since 2012. And the increase not only applies to homes but vacant land as well. That’s great news if you’re selling your property! Not so great if you’re trying to buy – but don’t be frustrated, there are still some deals available to be had! If you are serious about buying property, here are a couple tips to help YOU get the jump ahead of the others out there:
*Get pre-qualified with a LOCAL lender. It is important to work with lenders here on the Western Slope who understand the nuances of properties here, local appraisers and other things that can help your loan go smoothly. The TV commercials make it look “easy” but they don’t know or understand the Colorado market and certainly not the Western Slope.
