I-70 East Bound is Open Again

Last week I mentioned that we are in “Monsoon Season” here in Colorado.  It absolutely showed up on Friday evening – in spades!  It rained in “sheets” at my house and the photo here is of the rock slide that happened in Debeque Canyon on I-70 between Grand Junction and Rifle.  WOW – thank God no one was hurt.  Obviously eastbound I-70 was closed for a couple of days while CDOT cleared the giant rocks off the road.  They even had to close west bound traffic for awhile one day while the crews broke up that big boulder to get it off the road.

Just a word of caution – if you have to travel by car (especially on I-70) just check the weather and road conditions before you go.  Here’s information from CDOT for current road conditions and closures.

Stay safe out there!

Mortgage rates edged higher last week and the forecast for this week is more of the same.  Fed Chair Powell will speak about the outlook of the economy on Friday morning, and we could see mortgage rates affected by his speech.  We will keep an eye on it.  Call me if you’re thinking about buying property – there’s still some great options out there and I can get you in touch with a local lender that will work great for your situation.

Still plenty of fun events and activities coming up this month and next.  Make sure you follow me on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

Hope you have a great week!
