20 Jul It’s Fair Week in Montrose County!

The 140th Montrose County Fair & Rodeo is officially underway after Friday’s parade kicked off one of our favorite traditions of the summer! This week is packed with family fun including the carnival, CPRA rodeo performances, Buck It Bull Riding, The Pig Scramble, live entertainment, and the always-popular Junior Livestock Auction. Whether you’re cheering on the cowboys, watching the kids in the arena, or enjoying fair food, there’s something for everyone. It’s a wonderful reminder of the agriculture, western heritage, and community spirit that make Montrose County such a special place to call home. Make sure to follow my Facebook and Instagram pages for some updates!
While we’re still enjoying plenty of summer sunshine and warm temperatures, Colorado is moving into our annual monsoon season, bringing a better chance for afternoon thunderstorms and much-needed rainfall (we are hoping for less lightening than rain). This year, meteorologists are also closely watching a strengthening El Niño in the Pacific. Forecasts suggest it could become one of the strongest El Niño events ever, which may support monsoon moisture this summer and could influence a wetter fall and winter. Of course, Colorado weather always keeps us guessing, so we’ll take it as it comes!
Mortgage rates continue to hover in the high 5% to low 6% range for many well-qualified buyers. While rates fluctuate daily, buyers and sellers are still finding success by focusing on their long-term goals instead of waiting for the “perfect” rate. If you’re wondering how today’s market affects your buying or selling plans, I’d be happy to visit with you.
Whether you’re heading to the fair, thinking about buying or selling, or just have questions about today’s real estate market, I’m always just a phone call, text, or email away. Have a fantastic week, enjoy all the fair festivities, and stay safe out there!
