04 Mar March Came in Like a Lion (again)

Happy March from the Western Slope! The 1st of March tried to fool us by being sunny and warm with a little wind coming up in the afternoon. But the 2nd we saw the wind really get busy and again on the 3rd it was crazy windy. All of this to blow in a spring snowstorm that arrived and dumped over a foot of snow in the Montrose area. In fact, Montrose got the highest snow total in the state! (My assistant was not pleased….) It was a heavy, wet snow which is great as we really needed the moisture.
I hope you had a wonderful month of February – this year is flying by again. I am really starting to see the market activity pick up. I have a buyer flying in this week to look at some homes and I will be getting a new listing of a home for sale pretty soon.
Thanks to Robin at Ambassador Mortgage Group, I am sharing this mortgage forecast for the week. “It may be overly optimistic, but we think rates could improve this week with some help from labor market data and the Fed. However, this data could also push rates higher if it comes in showing a stronger labor market and economy. Remember, mortgage rates can only move lower once markets anticipate Fed rate cuts are more likely to come earlier in the year in June or possibly May, which is not the case right now.”
