08 May Summer is Coming!
We are seeing the beginnings of summer here in Western Colorado. We have already been having temps of 80’s and Delta has even gotten up to 90 a couple of times. Folks are planting their gardens and it looks like it will be a good year. Disappointing that the peach crop in Palisade froze though…. We love Palisade peaches.
There are farmers markets opening around the Western Slope too. Montrose’s Farmers Market will be having their grand opening this Saturday and they even got permission to have a musician play for entertainment. This market goes every Saturday into the fall.
Ridgway Farmers Market Grand Opening is scheduled on Friday, May 22. The market is held in the town park, right on the main street through town.
Delta’s Farmers Market opens in June and is held every Wednesday and Saturday morning through the summer.
Grand Junction’s Farmer’s Market opens Friday, May 15. You can visit them Friday’s 3 p.m. till 6 p.m. and Saturday’s 8 a.m. till 12 noon.
It’s so great to see all the wonderful local products that are available to us here in Western Colorado.
