Sweet Corn and Sunflowers – here’s August!

August in Western Colorado means Olathe Sweet – sweet corn and beautiful fields of sunflowers.  (Back to school too, but we can talk about that next week.)  The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival is scheduled for August 24th this year – much later than it has been in the past.  It has been the first weekend in August in the past.  They have a great music line up with all the free sweet corn you can eat!   You can usually find the sunflower fields at DeVries Produce right on Hwy 50 between Montrose and Olathe.

All the other amazing produce here on the Western Slope is coming in as well:  peaches, tomatoes, squash, lettuce and so much more!  Make sure you visit a local farmers market in Montrose, Delta or Ridgway (and more) to find the freshest options and best prices.  This is a GREAT time of year to live or visit the Western Slope!

Mortgage rates have stayed pretty steady over the last week and are expected to remain steady again this week.  Money says that even with the small decrease in rates last week, buyers are still holding off.  However, I am really busy right now with folks who are looking at property and planning to buy soon.  So if you’re thinking of buying property here in Western Colorado, make sure to contact me.

There are still a lot of free concerts and festivals going on this summer and into the fall.  You can follow my Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on events.  Make sure you let me know if I can share your event!  Have a great week!
