Summer has arrived here on the Western Slope and the weather is beautiful.  We are seeing the “spring” winds whip up in the afternoons.  So, fire danger is becoming a concern even with the wet weather we have had.  Here are some great tips to help prevent wild fires.  https://www.doi.gov/blog/10-tips-prevent-wildfires

If, God forbid, you get caught near a fire, here are some good suggestions for preparing prior to a fire as well as what to do if there is an active fire.

This weekend is the beginning of July and a great (4 day for some) holiday weekend.  I hope you are going to be able to enjoy a nice long weekend and wish you a safe and happy 4^th of July!  There are some great things going on for the holiday – one of which is new to the Western Slope but we are super excited about it.  The Western Sky Balloon Festival will have hot air balloons flying the skies over Delta on the 3^rd and 4^th next week.  It’s the first year for this one and we hope for years to come.
