It’s mid August and summer is quickly slipping into fall. But there is still some warm weather left to enjoy the beautiful Western Colorado scenery and outdoor activities. Did you know that Black Canyon of the Gunnison is just 15 minutes from Montrose? The breath taking views alone are a great reason to visit. But there is so much more! The river of course offers incredible fishing. The hiking/biking trails in the canyon give you the opportunity to see nature and animals like never before. There is actually a free Ranger Talk at Chasm View every day through the summer ending Sept. 2. The talk is at 2pm and just 20 minutes but the Ranger will give you an overview of history, nature and all the features of the canyon.
